How much does a personal trainer cost in Cork?
Nobody likes ringing around for prices, so here is the honest version. What personal training costs in Cork, why the hourly one-to-one model adds up so fast, and exactly how ours works at our Douglas and Ballincollig gyms.
Pricing
Where the money goes
Personal training is expensive when you pay one coach for one hour of one person's time. It gets a lot more affordable when you change the format without losing the coaching.
The hourly one-to-one model
One coach, one client, one hour. It is the traditional model and it is the reason most people assume they cannot afford a personal trainer.
Our model
Coached 30-minute sessions, one coach with two clients, each on their own programme. Proper coaching every session, at a fraction of the hourly rate.
Rolling membership
From €179 every 4 weeks for two sessions a week. It rolls, it is not a contract, and you can change or stop it.
No-expiry packs
Buy a block of sessions and use them when you can. They never lapse. Holidays, illness and busy months cost you nothing.
Nothing hidden
No card needed to try it, no upsell in the first session. The price you are quoted is the price.
Both gyms
Any membership or pack works at Douglas and Ballincollig, and everything is booked through the one app.
Real Google reviews
From members who started where you are
In their own words, straight from Google.
"ATP are the only gym in Cork to have no expiry on their gym packages which adds to the “no-pressure” environment and the classes and PTs are very good value. … It’s fantastic to have a gym like this right on my doorstep! Check it out, you won’t regret it!"
"The no expiry date on PT and Classes are very valuable. In other gyms I have paid more for PTs and lost my money when not being able to fit in the sessions within a fixed time frame due to work/family commitments. The staff are friendly, welcoming and approachable - which makes all the difference."
"Very welcoming gym, pt sessions are short effective and time and money qell spent. Recommend, particularly if you know you want to/need to exercise, the how is taken care of with their expertise and guidance. Great trainers."
"I really like that you can just purchase credits and use them whenever with no fear if them expiring. I've been a member of other gyms where it was a subscription model, 12 classes a month and you either used them or lost them at the end of the month with no wiggle room. People have lives, get injured etc."
The honest version
What personal training costs in Cork, and what ours costs
The traditional personal trainer charges by the hour, one to one. Good coaches are worth it, but at two sessions a week it adds up to more than most people can justify for long, which is why so many people do a six-week block and stop. The coaching worked; the bill did not.
We built ATP around a different format. Sessions are 30 minutes rather than an hour, because a coached half hour with no waiting around does more than an unstructured hour. And rather than one coach to one client, it is one coach to two, each on your own programme, so the coach's time is shared but the attention is not. The result is personal training that people can afford to do twice a week for years rather than six weeks.
What it costs
Rolling memberships start at €179 every 4 weeks for two sessions a week. That rolls month to month, it is not a contract, and you can change it or stop it. If you would rather not commit to a rhythm, our no-expiry packs let you buy a block of sessions and use them whenever suits, and they never lapse. Tell us how often you want to train and we will give you the exact figure. There are no hidden extras.
What you are paying for
A qualified coach who writes your programme, coaches your technique, adjusts the session to how you are on the day and progresses it week by week. A small, quiet gym where you never wait for equipment. The app to book and move sessions. And the thing that makes it work, which is that it is affordable enough to keep doing.
