Personal training for busy parents in Cork

You have 30 minutes, maybe, between the drop-off and the next thing. Not an hour, not a plan you have to think about, not a membership that punishes you for a sick child. Our personal trainers build 30-minute sessions around exactly that at our Douglas and Ballincollig gyms.

Busy parents

Why 30 minutes, coached, is the only thing that sticks

Parents do not fail at fitness because they lack willpower. They fail because the plan needed an hour, a quiet head and a free evening. Ours needs none of those.

30 minutes, door to door

In, coached, out. Sessions run from early morning through to evening, six days a week, so the school-run slot and the after-bedtime slot both work.

No thinking required

You turn up. Your coach has the programme, guides you through it and adjusts it to how much sleep you got. The one hour of the week where someone else is in charge.

Packs that never expire

A sick child, a school holiday, a work trip. Our no-expiry packs mean a bad fortnight costs you nothing and you pick up where you left off.

Strength that shows up at home

Lifting toddlers, buggies up steps, car seats, shopping. Strength training is the fitness that actually gets used.

Energy, not exhaustion

Two short strength sessions a week gives energy back. Bootcamps and long runs take it from parents who have none to spare.

Both gyms, one membership

Any membership works at Douglas and Ballincollig, so whichever side of the city the day lands you on, there is a session.

"I feel so comfortable training here which is very important to me. I am a busy mum and I love my time at the gym where I can always rely on a friendly chat and great advice. The level of expertise is second to none. I have learned so much at ATP about training, food and everything in between."

"The no expiry date on PT and Classes are very valuable. In other gyms I have paid more for PTs and lost my money when not being able to fit in the sessions within a fixed time frame due to work/family commitments. The staff are friendly, welcoming and approachable - which makes all the difference."

How it works

Training when you have kids and no time

Every parent we coach has the same story. They were fit once, or wanted to be. Then the kids arrived and every plan needed an hour they did not have, and every gym membership quietly turned into a monthly donation. It is not a willpower problem. It is a design problem, and the fix is a session short enough to fit, coached so you do not have to think, and a membership that does not punish you for having a life.

What a session looks like

You train 1:2, one coach and two clients, each on your own programme, for 30 minutes. You book through the app, arrive, and your coach runs the session: a warm up, three or four strength movements at loads that suit the day, and out the door. If you slept three hours, tell your coach and the session bends around it. Two sessions a week is the sweet spot and it is enough to change how you feel in a couple of months.

Fitting it in

Sessions run from early morning through to the evening, six days a week, at both gyms, and you book whatever slot suits that week rather than a fixed time. Most parents land on a mid-morning slot after the drop-off, a lunchtime, or an evening once the kids are down. If you are back after a baby, our pre and post natal page covers the early months, and our pelvic floor and diastasis page covers the bits nobody talks about.

FAQ

Busy parent questions

If yours is not here, give us a ring. We would rather talk it through.

Is 30 minutes really enough to make a difference?

Yes, when it is coached and every minute is used. Two 30-minute strength sessions a week is what most of our members do, and it changes how they look and feel within a couple of months.

What if I have to cancel because of the kids?

It happens. Our no-expiry packs mean a missed week or a chaotic month costs you nothing, and you pick up again when you can. Just let us know through the app.

Can I bring the baby?

Ask us before you book. It depends on the session and the gym on the day, and we will always tell you straight.

Do I have to book the same time every week?

No. You book whatever slot suits that week through the app, and you can train at either gym on the same membership.

I am exhausted. Will training make it worse?

Short strength sessions usually give energy back rather than taking it. We keep the loads sensible on tired days and build from there. Bootcamps and long cardio are what drain tired parents.

Can my partner and I train together?

Yes, and it is a lovely way to get an hour together. Our training with a partner page explains how it works.

How much does it cost?

Rolling memberships start at €179 every 4 weeks for two sessions a week, and our no-expiry packs never lapse. Your first session is free, no card and no commitment.
