You achieved your goal! What now?

Achieving a goal is a huge accomplishment.

But that feeling we get once it’s all over. .

What is that? .

Why do i feel lost? .

Should I be happier?

These are all questions you might ask yourself. .

Firstly if you have achieved a goal you set out no matter how big or small, give yourself a pat on the back! Many people set out goals and never achieve them!

We all too often quickly brush off our achievements or compare our result to someone who done it better.

Stop for a second and tell yourself! I’m pretty awesome and I have achieved what Iv set out! .

Goal setting is great but when the goal is a big one like a wedding day and wanting to look your very best in your dress or the huge challenge of deciding to prep for a photoshoot. When that day is over it’s almost like we don’t know what to do next. .

This is due to the fact that for most people it’s the anticipation of a result more than the result itself which sets of dopamine in the brain. The excitement hormone. So, when we finally get this end result that excitement drops and we are constantly searching for that high again.

It is important to have a cooling off period. .

You have trained and dieted pretty hard for a long period of time. .

Things to note:

  • You will be in the best shape of your life for that day only.
  • The strict diet you followed is not sustainable
  • The intensity and frequency of your training routine probably isn’t sustainable long term
  • You will pig out and put on weight .

If you accept the statements above then it will lessen the mental health and body image issues that usually arise from lack of understanding how the body works post wedding day or post shoot. .

To really understand that extremes of any sort are not sustainable, Extreme diets, Something I have done myself 4 times for shows have a physiological and mental effect on you. .

Enjoy the lead up, enjoy the day, enjoy the break after. .

Don’t jump back in to something straight away. .

Don’t set a massive goal right away.

Think about what you truly want from your appearance but more importantly from your life. Then decide your next step. .

You achieved your goal! Be proud of that!
